Some things (updatery) TL;DR
Remember when I told you I had a flat tire? when I put the spare on my car last Friday I fucked my back up. By Sunday I was immobile on the couch. Today I am finally able to function like a normal human. At least for the moment. still going between ice and heat. America’s Tire Store told me 3 days to get my tire. It’s been 6. Still no tire. which turns out to be fine as I could not have possibly driven to get it fixed.
The band IDLES have a new record out called Ultra Mondo. If you are unfamiliar with IDLES you should fix that. They have managed like no other band I can think of to reinvent punk rock music into something new, current and exciting. It’s sort of amazing. It’s got all the parts that make punk music but, it isn’t exactly punk music? But it TOTALLY IS. It’s hard to explain. FANTASTIC BAND and this new record is absolutely a 100% 5 Star masterpiece. They will be the lead off tracks on tomorrow’s playlist. They are becoming one of the most important bands in all of music for me.
I managed to get myself behind editing the podcast so this weeks episode (which is a good one you should listen to) wasn’t ready to go until late Tuesday. I am obsessive about working ahead to have multiple episodes in the can. I failed. That stress likely contributed heavily to my back situation as I carry stress in my lower back. I was very stressed. All good now. I sat and got a couple episodes done even though it hurt to sit in a chair and work. but, I’m caught up and feeling good. Probably why my back is feeling better?
It’s 106 degrees in Los Angeles. Been over 100 all week. It’s October. But, then again…I feel like I say this every October? I was a guest on a different Podcast that talks about Podcasting. I’ll post a link to that in the comments below. It was fun. It has already lead to me being asked to guest on other podcasts. Which is…weird. Guess I’m ok at this whole thing? who knows?

I just can not possibly recommend IDLES more highly. I wish I could describe them more accurately though. So hard to put a finger on a genre they fit.
